KU Leuven work progress continued...

Posted on 27 June 2012

The third task of KU Leuven consisted in the design and production of a so-called “exit-roller” system as shown in the figure attached. This will be mounted at the mouth of the stem in order to guide the lines smoothly, ensuring thatthey will not be damaged or worn out prematurely upon gliding in and out of the stem during operation. Although the concept is fairly simple, consisting of abox with 8 (= 4 pairs) of crossed rollers where the lines go in between, itrequired certain dimensional and weight optimization.
