The HE-ARC-Ingénierie is the University of Applied Sciences of the West Switzerland (HES-SO), placed in the region of the Swiss Jura. The school is placed in a region with an old and important industrial tradition especially in the domain of the mechanics of precision, materials, and coating. Amazingly the region has also a long tradition in equipments for navigation and naval industry: during centuries, the watches for the computation of the longitude where produced just here, for all over in the world). Two laboratories of the school are engaged in the project: LMSO - Laboratoire de Microstructuration et Optoélectronique (Laboratory of Micro-structures & Optoelectronic) and the LMO – Laboratoire de Machines – Outils et Fabrication assistée par ordinateur (Laboratory of Machine – Tools and computer aided manufacturing).
